• Preliminary 2009 Season Standings updated 3/24/2009.
  • [3/24/2009] The NOR for J/Fest is now available. Register Online by April 1, 2009 to receive a $50 discount. Get an additional $5 off with proof of current USSA membership. J/Fest racing on April 4-5, 2009 will be hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and sponsored by West Mairine.
  • [2/14/2009] On the weekend of March 13 – 15, Dave Perry will be giving three presentations highlighting the revisions to the racing rules in the Bay Area. Because of the importance of rules understanding and compliance, attendance by a J/105 owner or regular crew member at one of his three Bay Area seminars (or at a 2009 North U rules presentation) will count as one first place finish in our “A” season scoring. Dave’s presentations will be as follows:
    • 3/13 @ 1800-2100  $20 » StFYC
    • 3/14 @ 0900-1500  $50 » StFYC
    (includes lunch)
    • 3/15 @ 1330-         $20 » CPYC
(includes Mt. Gay party + 2 drinks)
  • [2/10/2009] An updated copy of the Fleet One Articles (our local class rules) is now available under “Fleet Business.” In addition to the changes to Article 3 that were discussed extensively at last year’s Annual General Meeting, the construction of rule 9.1 (the “One Turn vs. Two Turn Penalty”) has been changed so that it conforms with the new “zone” definition in the RRS 2009 – 2012. Note that in order for our local modification of RRS 44.1 to be in effect for a regatta, this language must be repeated in the sailing instructions. This extra step is necessary because RRS 86.1(c) prohibits class rules from changing RRS 44.1 (but allows it to be done via the SIs). The ExCom will work with the organizing authority of each J/105 event to try to make sure that this language is included in the event’s SIs.
  • [2/10/2009] All of the proposed changes to the National J/105 Class Rules were approved by a majority vote of the Class Executive Committee, as provided in the Class constitution. Fleet One cast its votes against all but two of the submissions as decided by the Fleet at our AGM last November. The Revised Class Rules are effective February 1, 2009.
