Golden Gate Midwinter ( 5 Races, 1 Throwouts )
Horseplay sailed an excellant fifth and final race to get a bullet and nose out Arbitrage to win the 2001-2002 GGYC Midwinters with a 1,3,4,8 total of 15 to Arbitrage's 1,2,6,7 total of 16. Going into the race, Arbitragte held a 3 point advantage over Whisper, followed by Horseplay and Bald Eagles. However, Bald Eagles finished third to vault over Whisper and grab fourth with a steady 3,4,4,7 total of 18 compared to Whisper's up and down 1,1,9,10 total of 21. Orion grabbed fifth with a 2,3,6,14 total of 25. Rounding out the top ten were Jose Cuervo 29, Wind Dance 32, Capricorn 38, and a three way tie for ninth between Nirvana, Ultimatum and Hazardous Waste at 39. A three way tie for 12 at 45 was Good Timin, Aquavit and Jitterbug. Irrational Again tied with Liberty for 15 at 48 with Jabberwocky at 17 witha 50. Kookaburra, Pippin and Walloping Swede rounded out the top 20. A total ofd 27 boats competed in this year's GGYC. Congratualtions to all who particpated.
