Highest Principled behavior in a One Design Regatta:
Ian Charles withdrew from the 2001 PCCs when an EXCOM ruling clarifying what the meaning of an "event" was resulted in his violation of the not yet interpreted rule when he changed jibs on the second day of a 2 day regatta. The withdrawal contributed to his getting a second in the season championship by a single point.
Most Embarrassing Misinterpretation of SIs in a One Design Regatta:
Whisper decided that the course required a windward finish despite seeing the first 4 boats round the top mark and set chutes for a second downwind leg in the 2002 Summer Keel regatta. Whisper sailed up to the lunching committee boat but no gun was fired. Whisper turned around and chased the fleet moving from 5th to last
Most Embarrassing Prank in a One Design Regatta:
Crew to remain unnamed, decided it was cool to take the dock keg and place it in the cockpit of Joyride. The motley crew then compounded the faux pas by having their picture taken in the boat with the keg for publication on the website.
One of the Nicest Contributions to the fleet:
Joyce DiLorenzo acted as the fleet photographer and took pictures of each and every boat in each and every regatta for over three years. Joyce then presented individualized hand made photo albums to each owner at the annual dinner.
Best on the water Photography during a season:
Glen Youngling of Hazardous Waste continues to amaze us all by being able to shoot pictures DURING the races and posting them on the site. Glen also made nice prints for each owner at the 2002 annual dinner.
Tightest Reach with a Spinnaker to be photographed in a One Design Regatta:
Gary Kneeland's Orion was captured on Best of the West carrying his chute on a screaming reach trying to make X buoy on the way down from Yellow Bluff during the 2002 BBS Bay tour race. He succeeded, but we all know the color of his bottom and the shape of his keel.

Tom Coates' Charade has traveled to the SORC, Key West, Charleston Race Week, Chicago NAs and Long Beach. Zuni Bear has traveled to Key West, the Chicago NAs and several east coast races to compete in J105 events.
